One number, one source, one status. Every row names the institution that produced the figure, and the source title is a direct link. Click through and check the number yourself. That is the point of the links.
VERIFIED means the number was checked against the linked source during a verification pass. Rows without the badge have not yet been through one. Nothing is presented as verified before it is.
Favorable movement is recorded. See overdose deaths, ozone, leaded petrol. The decline of a system is a measurement problem, not an assumption.
